Everyday is a gift to me. Every snuggle. Every kiss. Every accidental kick in the head.
But, some moments manage to explode all of my expectations of how much I am capable of loving my child. Tonight was one of those nights.
After playdough, and a new family game. After sticky noodles and cuddletight reading. After his new patented Squirrel Dance.
He asked to go to sleep with his butterfly wings on. Of course.
Quietly, so quietly we drifted towards sleep. Daddy slipped away and we had a couple of minutes of nursing. He rolled over and said to me in the seconds between deep sleep and the day he just finished:
I love you mama.
These miniature moments of heaven are what make everything worth it.
