I have never been much of an icing girl. My idea of dessert is a date square. But, I was inspired this morning after a quick look around pinterest in my search to find more fuel for Aodhan’s solar system interest. Boom! These cookies are amazing.

No aspect of the production was difficult and Aodhan was able to be involved every step of the way.

I used the Chocolate Sugar Cookie recipe from Vegan Cookies Take Over Your Cookie Jar – because, Aodhan loves chocolate. Plus, it was a one-hour chill time instead of over night. The icing recipe I found from my inspiration page over at CraftKnife (have you been to this blog? wooowie – so glad I stumbled upon this one today).

Everything came together really smoothly, and after a good chill, we rolled these out and used various circle shapes from around the kitchen to make the planets. They aren’t to scale, but I tried to stick to some semblance of reality.

The other bonus is that the icing can be reused tonight as bathtub paint!!!

Don’t forget – tomorrow is Kid’s Weekly Co-op!

I am linking up to these great blogs. Come and check them out.
